Conventional laparoscopic surgeries are done by placing few 4-6 cuts on the abdominal wall.
Access to internal organs through single cut in the umbilicus (belly button) with the help of special device is called single port/scarless surgery.
Advantages
- No scar is visible as it is done thru belly button
- Less painful
Disadvantages
- All the operations are not technically possible to perform by this technique.
- It requires special instruments and device so it is little expensive.
